Taro and Mushroom Cake
- 10 Black mushroom
- 1⅓ lb. Taro
- 3 tbsp Sediment of flour (or cornstarch)
Ingredients A:
- 1 Green onion
- 1 Star anise
- ½ tsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Soysauce
- ½ tsp Wine
- ½ cup Soup stock
- Soak black mushroom till soft, remove stems put into a large bowl add “Ingredients A”, steam for 15 minutes.
- Cut taro into slices, steam for 20 minutes, smash and mix with sediment of flour (mix first with ½ cup boiling water), ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp sesame oil, some pepper, 1½ tbsp oil, mix well, devide into 10 balls.
- Splash flour on black mushroom. Wrap mushroom with taro dough to form a flat cake, dip a little cornstarch, deep fry in hot oil to golden brown, remove and drain, serve with brown pepercorn powder or ketchup.
