Moo Loan (Ground Pork with Bean Cake Sauce)
- 2 pieces bean cake
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 2 oz. finely chopped shrimp
- 1½ cups coconut milk
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. fish sauce
- 1/2 cup tamarind juice
- 5 fresh red chili
Place 5 tamarind pods in 1/2 cup water. Mix and squeeze to form juice. Remove pods.
Slice chili into slivers. Mash bean curd in small bowl. Preheat wok over medium high heat. Add coconut milk, bean curd, pork, shrimp and red onion. Stir and let boil for 5 minutes. Add fish sauce, sugar, red chili, tamarind juice. Stir until pork is well cooked. Remove and place in deep bowl. Serve with fresh green vegetables.
