Siam Chicken Wings in Red Sauce

Ingredients
  • 6 chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 4½ tbsp. Golden Mountain Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. sake or cooking wine
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp. chopped green onion
  • 1 head lettuce
  • 3 oz. cooking oil
  • 2½ cups water
Preparation

Cut apart chicken wings at joint to make 3 pieces of each wing.

Mix all ingredients except green onion, lettuce and oil in large bowl. Add chicken wings and marinate for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in wok over medium heat. Add wings and stir gently for 10 minutes. Add water and allow to boil for 3 minutes. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Cover serving plate with lettuce. Place wings on lettuce. Sprinkle green onion on wings and serve.

Serves 2 to 3 persons.
