Japanese and Korean Food
Japanese food is unique. The 200 year ban on foreigners from 1640 meant that food in Japan remained true to its origins and exquisitely refined. Artistry is evident in even the simplest dish. Eating out is the norm, and restaurants specialize in dishes such as Sushi, Sukiyaki, Sashimi or Tempura.
Korean food features seven basic flavours — garlic, ginger, pepper, soy sauce, spring onions, sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds.
